The mission of McNeel Middle School, a proud community embracing our rich diversity, is to ensure each Lancer achieves personal excellence in preparation for high school and beyond by engaging students in relevant, innovative programming and high quality student-centered instruction.

Dear Lancer Students and Families,

Welcome to the 2012 - 2013 school year. We hope everyone has had a relaxing and enjoyable summer. As the new school year approaches I’d like to take this opportunity to update you on what’s in store for students and families when they return to the HOME of the Lancers this fall.

Our goals for the next several years are very simple. We want all students to be at the proficient level or above in reading, mathematics, and writing and the achievement gaps for identified sub groups to be reduced by at least 20% each year. We want all students to understand and consistently demonstrate the District’s character attributes through Respect, Responsibility and Safety and finally we want each student to be engaged in a rigorous academic program and career exploration activities to ensure a successful transition to high school.

As we look forward to the new year, I want you to know that there are a lot of changes here at the Home of the Lancers focused on increasing student achievement and ensuring that we are accomplishing our mission. This year is going to see our students and staff achieve even greater heights in terms of academic achievement and Lancer pride.

Please join us at 6th Grade Orientation on August 30th from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Back to School Night Thursday September 13th from 6:00 p.m. until 7;00 p.m.

Have a great rest of the summer and as always, Go Lancers!!!
