Dear All,
My name is Tina Goecks and I'm honored to work along side of Mr. Bosco and Mrs. Smullen as Assistant Principal of McNeel Middle School, HOME of the Lancers! The School District of Beloit is very special to me as it is the district I grew up in and graduated from. I am one of three sisters and the daughter of a beautiful mother who worked for Beloit Memorial Hospital for 37 years until her passing a few years ago. My youngest sister, Wendy, has been an educator for 15 years here at McNeel and Cathy, our middle sister, is currently pursuing her degree in Special Education!. My mother would be so proud!
I am a mom of three amazing daughters, Danielle, Jaimie, and Allison. All three are currently in college pursuing various degrees. Also, I became a grandma on April 2, 2010 to the most extraordinary little girl named Jahzara. When my girls were little I was fortunate to stay home. During that time I owned and operated my own business called The Potter's Hand. I designed and marketed Folk Art Doll Patterns. My patterns were sold all over the world! I was even on the cover of Country Sampler Magazine. Currently, I love to travel, hike, am an avid bike rider, reader, gardener, and love to go four wheeling. Life is good!
In January of 2000, I decided to return to school and pursue a degree in Education. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Family and Individual Development from NIU, then went on to gain my Masters of Education in Interdisciplinary Studies in Curriculum and Instruction through NLU and then completed my requirements for my Administrative and Director of Instruction License at George Williams College. After four years of teaching I was hired as Assistant Principal at BMHS, and this year was given the opportunity to serve at McNeel Middle School as your Assistant Principal. I believe strongly that while we have had some great years behind us in the School District of Beloit, our best years are ahead of us! I am so excited to be a part of a district that is on the move, has vision, and is supported by a committed, dedicated and qualified top notch staff. I look forward to a long and productive partnership with the School District of Beloit at the HOME of the Lancers!
